Coeval is a beautiful old English word that means contemporary. Somehow it got lost through the years. The first time I saw it I knew that was what I wanted to call our business, as it perfectly describes our unique line of jewellery. We are a small business run by myself, George and Leanie.
I studied in Stellenbosch at Daniel Jacobs Jewellery Design Centre. It's a private little college that taught me almost everything I know about designing and manufacturing beautiful jewellery pieces. After my studies I travelled and worked abroad.
George has an importing background and has taken a leap of faith in the jewellery business. He and Leanie handle our online marketing, advertising and Social media.
I’ve been in the jewellery trade for 10 years and have had the privilege to work with the most beautiful natural gemstones while living abroad. As South Africans we hear about all these phenomenal gemstones but we very rarely get to work with gems like that.
I came back home with a dream to open my own jewellery business where I could sell beautiful natural gems in all the colours of the rainbow, set in affordable stunning designs.
We mainly focus on displaying sterling silver with natural gemstones but we also make bespoke pieces in gold and other precious metals. We also have some stunning watches available in store with brands like Obaku, Citizen and Swatch.
Coeval is now joined with our sister store Blue Ice in Gardens Shopping Centre.
